Ebury, the global financial technology firm, is pleased to announce the strengthening of its Institutional Solutions team, reinforcing its commitment to supporting the alternative fund management industry. The firm welcomes two new hires: Tom Farrow and Aaron Bird.
Tom Farrow has been at the forefront of the FX industry for nearly 20 years. Most recently, he served on the Executive Board at Monex Europe as Group Director of Trading, where he played a pivotal role in building the Monex Trading Team and establishing their Derivatives Trading desk. Tom will expand Ebury’s presence in the Alternative Fund Industry, the mid-and-large Corporate segment, and strengthen Ebury’s position in the Derivatives space.
Aaron Bird brings 20 years of experience across the FX and fund administration industries in London, Jersey, and Sydney. He most recently held the position of Global Head of Alternatives and Enterprise Solutions at Argentex, and he will expand Ebury’s Institutional coverage in the APAC region.
Ebury Institutional Solutions (EIS) supports funds in operating cross-border by providing transactional accounts in 40 jurisdictions, bespoke FX risk management solutions, an industry-leading credit offering, cash management, and fund finance. Ebury’s strength lies in its ability to seamlessly resolve the complexities of operating across borders, such as opening transactional accounts in different jurisdictions (e.g., a German fund manager opening a transactional account for a Luxembourg SPV), hedging currency exposure for cross-border investments (e.g., hedging the FX risk of a EUR-denominated fund investing in US assets), or supporting asset disposals in emerging markets (e.g., repatriating proceeds from a Brazilian asset sale to a UK fund).
Ebury Institutional Solutions combines a dedicated local institutional coverage team currently operating in 15 fund-dominant jurisdictions with a strong presence in Luxembourg, the Channel Islands, Singapore, Hong Kong, the UK, Switzerland, the UAE, and many others. Furthermore, Ebury has built market-leading global transactional account infrastructure, established dedicated fund KYC onboarding and risk teams, provided bespoke fund FX hedging solutions, and ensured comprehensive emerging market currency coverage. With 11 regulated entities globally, Ebury can service clients locally on a single global platform.
Menne Mennes, Managing Director at Ebury Institutional Solutions, commented, “The appointments of Tom and Aaron underscore Ebury’s commitment to delivering unparalleled alternative banking and FX hedging solutions for our clients in the alternative fund management industry. Their understanding of the fund ecosystem, multi-jurisdictional perspective, and experience in delivering solutions for institutional clients will support Ebury in strengthening its role as a key partner in the alternative fund management industry.”
Tom Farrow, Director of Ebury Partner Market, stated, “It’s exciting to be joining Ebury during such a unique chapter in their journey. I have been incredibly impressed by their unparalleled ambitions in this sector, and I look forward to building on the exceptional foundations that are already in place.”
Aaron Bird, Head of EIS APAC, remarked, “Ebury’s global footprint and strong regulatory presence, coupled with a best-in-class product offering, provide a unique advantage to service providers, fund managers, and their investors in the APAC region. I am excited to work with the Ebury team to help our current clients and future prospects navigate the complexities of foreign currency and cross-border transactions while achieving their investment goals.”
