Ebury Renews Sponsorship with Ebury Sailing Team and Strengthens Presence in Elite Spanish Sailing

  • The fintech will continue to support the crew led by Julio Bernadeu in the main Mediterranean regattas during the 2026 season

Ebury, the global fintech specializing in international payments and foreign exchange, has renewed its sponsorship agreement with the Ebury Sailing Team, consolidating its commitment to competitive sailing and its alignment with the values of excellence, strategy, and teamwork that define the sport.

Thanks to this agreement, Ebury will be present for another year in the main events of the spanish sailing calendar alongside the crew skippered by Julio Bernadeu, comprised of eight sailors who combine experience, commitment, and a passion for the sea.

The team enters this season with a high-performance vessel: an Archambault A40, one of the most competitive designs in its category. With a length of 12 meters, a beam of 3.79 meters, and a draft of 2.42 meters, this sailboat stands out for its balance between performance and reliability under variable conditions.

Furthermore, the boat is equipped with state-of-the-art electronics from B&G and Evolution Tactic Racing software, a tactical navigation tool designed specifically for competition that facilitates strategic decision-making for the crew.

This year, the vessel features Ebury’s new corporate identity, launched in 2026, prominently displayed on both the hull and the sails, ensuring high brand visibility during every race.

Presence in the Main Mediterranean Regattas

The Ebury Sailing Team, which has already claimed second place this weekend at the iconic BMW Conde de Godó Trophy, will compete in the ORC 2 class, one of the benchmark categories in cruiser-racer sailing. Their schedule will cover some of the most prominent venues on the national nautical scene, culminating in the MAPFRE Copa del Rey, widely considered the pinnacle event of Spanish sailing:

  • SM La Reina Trophy (June 26 – July 5) – Real Club Náutico de Valencia
  • TabarcaVela (July 18 – 20) – Real Club de Regatas de Alicante
  • 44th MAPFRE Copa del Rey (August 1 – 8) – Real Club Náutico de Palma

A Proven Track Record

The results achieved by the Ebury Sailing Team in recent seasons underscore its consolidated track record. In 2024, the team was crowned champion of the TabarcaVela in ORC 2, claimed victory at the XXXV Jornadas Náuticas Pitiusas (winning four out of five races among 32 vessels), and achieved a commendable fourth place at the Copa del Rey MAPFRE.

Similarly, in 2025, the team successfully defended its title at TabarcaVela, cementing its status as one of the benchmarks in its category within the Mediterranean.

"Renewing Ebury's support means much more than just having a sponsor. It means having a company behind us that understands the demands of this sport and shares our competitive drive. We face this season with a fully upgraded boat and the ambition to remain on the podium at the major regattas," says Julio Bernadeu, team skipper.

On the other hand, Luis Merino, Managing Director of Ebury in Spain, notes:

"The renewal of this agreement reflects our commitment to projects that embody values such as precision, resilience, and teamwork. The Ebury Sailing Team is an example of how passion and discipline translate into consistent results, and we are proud to accompany them for another year at sea."
